| Oh so as many of you mave heared me wineing the last few weeks about my laggy computer... well I figured out thr problum today after taking out my video card, messing with my biose and just about everything elss I could do aside from sodering things onto my mother board (dont try and sodder things onto your mother board, last time I did that I ended up with a smokey mess... just saying) Heres the story, Theres a thing called a "dule core optimizer" which is a driver that helped AMD dule cores not fail at life. Without it in UO your hardware lags behind 1/16-1/4th of a second which is a major pain. Also it makes only about half of you bullits register, and even worse causes you to lag like hell when you are taking fire which all together is almost enough to make someone shoot there computer out of frustration. I had this installed, and it usualy automaticly starts, however a few months ago I disabled it from automaticaly starting because I wanted to see if it would make my game any better in COD4... which has also been laggy. I forgot that I did this however because right after these things I has gone for about two weeks... long story short, I come back and don't do to well, and know that I should be doing better. Like shoot at still targets and miss every shot, lame. Well I justy tested it with the DuleCore optomizer running and it did well, even killed Tag like 4 times with my pistol when he had a 44 So for all of you with AMD Dule Core processers this is a must have, all you do it download and install and it starts automaticly. http://support.amd.com/us/Pages/dynamicDetails.aspx?ListID=c5cd2c08-1432-4756-aafa-4d9dc646342f&ItemID=153"The AMD Dual-Core Optimizer can help improve some PC gaming video performance by compensating for those applications that bypass the Windows API for timing by directly using the RDTSC (Read Time Stamp Counter) instruction. Applications that rely on RDTSC do not benefit from the logic in the operating system to properly account for the affect of power management mechanisms on the rate at which a processor core's Time Stamp Counter (TSC) is incremented. The AMD Dual-Core Optimizer helps to correct the resulting video performance effects or other incorrect timing effects that these applications may experience on dual-core processor systems, by periodically adjusting the core time-stamp-counters, so that they are synchronized." This is what it says on the site- Cant be more true to my experence. | |

| Intel doesn't make a dule core anyway so there's nothing to compair it to. Red lines JB, red lines. Useful link | |

Almost have the same problem except for I lag 1.5-3 seconds depending how high my ping is and where the server is located. It also makes me want to shoot my computer in addition to having a mental breakdown, going psychotic, and unleashing a serial-killing, rage-quit massacre. Mine is more of a living-5,000-miles-away-problem then it is a hardware malfunction. Anyone who's had the same problem find a solution before I hurt myself? | |
